Suggestions
to Keep the Prosthesis from Being Noticed
Avoid tilting your head downward and at the same time looking
up from under the eyebrows. Most prostheses will not move upward
with its companion eye.
If your prosthesis does not move far to the sides, you should
develop a firm habit of turning your head into the desired direction
of gaze.
Except for the above advice, just be as relaxed as you can. Try
to forget about having a prosthesis and be yourself.
We recommend that you wear a pair of attractive glasses. More
importantly glasses must be worn to protect your remaining sighted
eye. The glasses will also distract from any asymmetries, which
could not be corrected with the prosthesis.
